How do accommodations work?
During the expedition, the sailboat will be our home for your two skippers/instructors and up to six adventurers. Between the deck, the cockpit, the dining room, galley and cabins, there’s plenty of space for us all to gather and enjoy each other’s company or spread out and do our own thing. You will share a cabin with another guest, which of course could be a friend or partner if you come with one.

How does food work during the expedition?
For the most part, we will be cooking on the sailboat, which is equipped with a kitchen, including a stove and fridge. Mas and Elena will happily do all the food preparations, but if you want to get involved, you are more than welcome! Before the trip we will confirm the food restrictions, preferences, and meal ideas of everyone and prepare a shopping list accordingly.

Will there be extra fees during the expedition?
Umi Expeditions is all inclusive, which means we take care of all boat costs (marina, fuel, water etc.) and food costs. However, any expense you might have on land is not included, such as shopping, eating out, or any activity done off the boat. You are also responsible to arrange your transportation to the meet up point, though we are happy to help you organize this.

What equipment should I bring?
We take care of the diving set up with buoys, lines and weights, as well as other accessories like nose clips, leashes, and EQ tools. You bring your personal freediving gear including a mask, a snorkel, fins, a belt, and a wetsuit.

What if I'm already a certified freediver?
Umi Expeditions are for complete beginners and experienced freedivers alike. If you are already an AIDA2 certified freediver, you can get your AIDA3 certification during the expedition (included). If you are already an AIDA3 freediver, then Umi Expeditions will provide you with an excellent environment to continue your freediving journey with daily training and coaching with two experienced freedive instructors to improve your technique, depth, and skills.
